We are seeking to recruit multiple postdoctoral fellows (wet – experimental, dry – computational or hybrid) to work at the intersection of single-cell sequencing, epigenetics, functional genomics and human stem cell biology under the supervision of Dr. Hao Wu (https://www.med.upenn.edu/apps/faculty/index.php/p8878781) in the Department of Genetics at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania. These positions are funded by National Human Genome Research Institute (NHGRI, “the Impact of Genomic Variation on Function (IGVF) consortium”) and Chan Zuckerberg Initiative (CZI, “Pediatric Networks for the Human Cell Atlas”).
Our group investigates transcription control and epigenetic regulation by developing high-precision epigenomics (single-nucleotide resolution), single-cell multi-omics (gene expression/chromatin accessibility/DNA methylation) or temporal-omics (metabolic labeling single-cell RNA-seq) methods. Our long-term goal is to use knowledge gained from quantitative and high-precision single-cell genomics technologies to advance our understanding of the impact of genetic variants on gene regulatory networks, lineage specification (cardiac or neural) and human diseases. Our laboratory is part of Penn Epigenetics Institute and Penn Institute of Regenerative Medicine. The University of Pennsylvania provides an outstanding environment for postdoctoral training. Our colleagues include world-class basic scientists and physicians. There are abundant opportunities for collaboration with other groups at Penn, and at other institutions.
We aspire to create a diverse, stimulating, and collaborative lab environment. Candidates must have a collegial attitude, determination and excellent communication/technical skills.
– A doctoral degree (Ph.D. or M.D.) in the biological science or computational biology.
– At least one first-author publication in peer-reviewed journals.
– The candidate for dry/hybrid lab position is required to be proficient in Linux and programming languages (R or Python). Experience with analysis of next-generation sequencing or single-cell genomics data is preferred but not required.
– The candidate for wet lab position is required to have biochemistry and molecular biology skills. Experience with next generation sequencing is preferred but not required.
If you are interested in our lab, please email a cover letter with a brief description of your research background and interests along with your CV and contact information of three references to Hao Wu, Ph.D. at email@example.com.
