A postdoctoral position is available immediately in Dr. Ling Qin’s laboratory in the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at the University of Pennsylvania. Our group uses cutting edge histology, 3D imaging, and single cell sequencing techniques as well as mouse models to study bone and cartilage metabolism and skeletal development. Several projects are available for the candidate to choose from, covering the areas of stem cell, adipocyte, blood vessels, cartilage, and tissue regeneration. Please refer to our recent publications (Single cell transcriptomics identifies a unique adipose lineage cell population that regulates bone marrow environment. Elife e54695; MALPs promote osteoclastogenesis in bone remodeling and pathologic bone loss. J Clin Invest. Online; Targeting cartilage EGFR pathway for osteoarthritis treatment. Sci Transl Med. In press) and lab website (https://www.med.upenn.edu/orl) for more information about research interests and collaborative research environment.
The candidate must be self-motivated, have strong background in standard molecular and biological techniques, cell culture and/or animal model, and have genuine interests in developing computational skills for single cell data and imaging analyses. Previous experience in bone biology is preferred but not required. The position requires the ability to lead projects and work cooperatively with others, carry out and troubleshoot experiments, and assist in grant and manuscript writing.
Please email a letter of application, curriculum vitae, and names of three references to:
