A postdoctoral fellow position is available in the Cardiovascular Institute of the University of Pennsylvania Perelman School of Medicine to perform basic-translational research on the coronary microvasculature. Coronary Microvascular Disease (CMVD) accounts for 30-50% of angina and myocardial infarction yet has been understudied in the past. We have developed novel methods to image the coronary microcirculation and uncover novel mechanisms of CMVD. This position focuses on using genomics, mouse models, novel mouse imaging, and cell and molecular studies on gene regulation to understand the pathogenesis of CMVD and develop novel therapeutic approaches.
Candidates should have a Ph.D. or equivalent degree and experience. Experience with mouse models, gene regulation, and/or vascular biology is preferred but not required. Candidates who have strong verbal and written communication skills and who are interested in learning new skills and performing interdisciplinary cardiovascular research are encouraged to apply.
