Two fully-funded postdoctoral training positions (NIH and Foundation grant supported) is available in the laboratory of Michael Shiloh M.D, Ph.D., in the Department of Internal Medicine and Division of Infectious Diseases and Geographic Medicine at UT Southwestern Medical Center to study host-pathogen interactions in the context of mycobacterial infection. Our laboratory has several exciting projects related to the transmission biology of Mycobacterium tuberculosis. Specifically, we are interested in the interface between M. tuberculosis, the airway nervous system and respiratory biology (cough) and the interaction of M. tuberculosis with the airway mucosal immune system.
Candidates must hold a Ph.D. and/or M.D. degree and have a strong foundation in neuroscience, molecular biology, biochemistry or immunology. Information on our postdoctoral training program and benefits can be found in our Postdoc Handbook or at the Graduate Medical Education website.
