The Hsu Laboratory at the University of Virginia has an opening for a creative and highly motivated Postdoctoral Research Associate interested in exploring new “click” chemistry and chemoproteomic technologies to target functional tyrosine sites on proteins. You can read more about our recent discovery at Nature Chemical Biology, JACS, and Chemical Science.
The research associate will engage in cutting-edge, multidisciplinary research that integrates synthesis of small-molecule probes with mass spectrometry-based proteomics and metabolomics for in vivo studies in cells and animals. The research associate will receive training in chemoproteomics, lipid biochemistry, in vivo pharmacology, and mass spectrometry. Example projects include the design, synthesis, and application of covalent small molecules targeting lipid metabolism and signaling in inflammation and immuno-oncology.
