A postdoc position is available beginning July 2021 in the laboratory of cancer genetics at University of Virginia, Department of Microbiology, Immunology, and Cancer Biology. A candidate will join our efforts to better understand the molecular origins of lung cancer. A postdoc will have fun engineering a complex human lung cancer genome using precancerous cells and genetically engineered mouse models, to determine the mechanisms of mutation-driven tumorigenesis, including the impacts of tumor mutations on interactions with immune cells and extracellular matrix, roles of epigenetic modifiers, and metabolic adaptation to cellular stress (Kim, Genes Dev 2016; Jia, Cancer Discovery 2018; Kim, Cancer Research, 2020).
The successful candidate has strong backgrounds in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, and/or Cell Biology. We welcome whoever wants to learn new approaches and bring new ideas. The PI is fully committed to the career advance of postdoctoral fellows in the field of biomedical sciences. Please contact Kwon Park (firstname.lastname@example.org) for any questions regarding the position and send your CV and cover letter that entails research background and interest and career goals.
