ERC funded postdoctoral positions in Hematopoietic Stem Cell biology and Bone marrow Microenvironment
We are looking for a highly motivated scientist to join the lab of César Nombela-Arrieta lab at the department of Medical Oncology and Hematology of the University (UZH) and University Hospital Zurich (USZ). Our research group employs cutting edge 3D imaging, single cell technologies and in vivo mouse models to dissect novel aspects of the regulation of hematopoietic stem cells by the bone marrow microenvironment in specific anatomical niches. Our goal is to uncover novel molecular and cellular mechanisms orchestrating healthy and pathological hematopoiesis (https://scholar.google.com/citations?user=5mLY-6gAAAAJ&hl=en). A general description of the main research lines of the lab can be found in www.nombelaarrieta.com
In the context of a project funded by the European Research Council (ERC) we are looking for candidates with a proven track record and a PhD in the fields of Experimental Hematology, Stem Cell biology and/or Immunology. Strong interest and hands on experience with fluorescence based microscopy techniques, image-based computational analysis, multidimensional flow cytometry and/or single cell sequencing will be highly valued.
The contract duration is initially for 3 years with possible extensions. The starting date is planned for January 2021 but can be agreed upon. We offer a competitive salary according to the standards of the UZH and a young and dynamic working environment. The group is embedded in, and supported by the department of Medical Oncology and Hematology, formed by several research labs focusing on crucial translational aspects of healthy and malignant hematopoiesis.
Please send your application with a brief motivation letter, CV and contact details of at least two references, to: Cesar.NombelaArrieta@usz.ch
