Postdoctoral Position – Mechanisms of Nociceptor Development and Maintenance
A postdoctoral position is available in the laboratory of Dr. Helen Lai in the Neuroscience Department of UT Southwestern Medical Center to understand the molecular pathways directed by Prdm12, a transcription factor critical for nociceptor development. The project also entails probing novel functions of Prdm12 in the adult. The Lai Lab (http://helenlailab.org) has a strong interest in understanding molecular and circuit mechanisms underlying sensorimotor behavior with a focus on pain and proprioception.
We are looking for:
– A highly motivated, enthusiastic, and inquisitive postdoctoral candidate with a background in molecular biology and/or biochemistry.
– Experience with ChIP-seq, scRNA-seq, and protein biochemistry.
– Experience with standard molecular biology and histology techniques.
– Knowledge of animal pain models and behavioral assays is a plus.
– Team player who works well with others.
– Excellent verbal, written, interpersonal, and communication skills.
