Postdoctoral positions in hypoxia, cancer and brain
Two postdoctoral positions are available immediately in the laboratory of Dr. Weibo Luo at the UT Southwestern Medical Center (http://www.utsouthwestern.edu/labs/luo-weibo) to study hypoxia regulation and drug development in cancer and brain (Cancer Res 2020; JCI 2018, 128(5): 1937-1955; NAR 2018, 46(13):6576-6591; Cell 2011, 145(5):732-44; PNAS 2012, 109(49): E3367-76). Our lab is particularly interested in understanding the crosstalk of oxygen homeostasis, epigenetics, and metabolism in cancer development and brain diseases. The cutting-edge techniques including mouse models, next generation sequencing, and metabolomics are used in our studies. Our research is supported by NCI, CPRIT, and private foundations.
We are seeking highly motivated candidates with a PhD or MD/PhD. Interested candidates must have 1) a strong background in biochemistry, molecular biology, and oncology or neuroscience, 2) a strong publication record, and 3) good communication skills. Experience with bioinformatics is a plus. Competitive salary and benefits are offered.
