The Jackrel Lab at Washington University in St. Louis is recruiting research specialists/technicians to join our lab. Research in the lab focuses on protein folding and misfolding using yeast, pure protein, and neuronal models of disease with a primary focus on neurodegeneration. Specifically, we are studying the effects of chaperones and disaggregases on protein aggregation and aberrant phase transitions.
For research specialist/technician positions we are seeking BS or MS graduates in Biochemistry, Biology, Chemistry, or related fields. We have positions available for recent graduates who may be interested in spending 1-2 years working full time in the laboratory prior to going to medical or graduate school. We are also seeking applicants looking for longer term positions. Responsibilities will include driving an independent research project and assisting in the general running of the lab. Experience with general molecular biology techniques, cell culture, or pure protein biochemistry is preferred, but not required.
Please see: https://sites.wustl.edu/jackrel/ for more information. Interested applicants should email Meredith Jackrel (mjackrel [at] wustl.edu) with a file containing a cover letter, CV, and contact information for three references.
