Develop novel immunotherapeutics for blood cancers and lymphomas in the laboratory of John F. DiPersio, MD, PhD. Use your talents and motivation to discover novel targets on blood cancers and lymphomas that could be used to design CAR-T cells and bispecific antibodies. Experience in CAR-T therapies, gene modification, gene editing platforms, CRISPR-based screens, phage-display screens, gene therapy vector construction, large scale multi-parameter flow cytometry and analysis, and direct handling of animals in large mouse experiments (n ≥ 30 mice/exp) is strongly preferred. Expertise in single cell genomics is an additional plus. Strong communication skills in oral and written English are required as is a demonstrated record of publication. Preprints alone are acceptable.
Post doc will design and participate in on-going in vitro and in vivo experiments using all of the above techniques. Prior experience with several of them is expected. NIH and other funding is already in place for this position. Washington University has a strong Post Doctoral Society (https://postdoc.wustl.edu/items/wu-postdoc-society/ ) and an Office of Post Doctoral Affairs (https://postdoc.wustl.edu/prospective-postdocs ) that offers networking support and professional development.
This large laboratory group has extensive experience in translational research and has moved several projects into the clinic and patented others. In addition to Dr. DiPersio, senior level scientists at the instructor, assistant and associate professor level as well as clinical fellows in the laboratory ensure ample opportunity for lively critical discussions. Dr. DiPersio is Chief of the Oncology Division and is Deputy Director of the Siteman Cancer Center which is designated by the National Cancer Institute as a Comprehensive Cancer Center. The clinical and basic research scientists in the division trained around the world and actively engage in journal clubs and research presentations. Members of the laboratory regularly present their work on immunotherapeutics, stem cell mobilization strategies, and graft versus host disease at national conferences.
Please send c.v., date of completion of PhD, estimated date available, and contact information for 3 references.
