The Molecular BioEngineering group (https://www.piatkevich-lab.com/) in the School of Life Sciences at Westlake University, China, is seeking research associates at the level of postdoctoral fellows. The research associates will work collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary research team aimed at developing and validating new molecular technologies for brain interfacing. The ideal applicant should have extensive experience in electrophysiology, in vivo imaging, neuroscience, microscopy, protein engineering. cell biology, chemical synthesis, optics. The scope of the research projects involves i) development of genetically encoded biosensors of neuronal activity; ii) non-invasive methods for controlling neuronal activity with high-spatiotemporal resolution in vivo; iii) novel methods for optical connectomics; iv) elucidating the pathogenic mechanisms underlying neurological disorders.
