Weiskopf Laboratory Post-Doctoral Research Fellow
Overview:
A post-doctoral position is available at Whitehead Institute for Biomedical Research in the laboratory of Dr. Kipp Weiskopf. The Weiskopf laboratory studies the interaction between macrophages and cancer. The overall objectives of the laboratory are to identify novel immune checkpoints that regulate macrophage activation within the tumor microenvironment, and to identify new therapies that stimulate macrophages to attack and eliminate cancer. The laboratory uses a multidisciplinary approach that spans immunology, cell biology, genetics, drug discovery, and in vivo modeling. Successful candidates will be joining a dynamic laboratory within an outstanding research environment.

Requirements:
• M.D. or Ph.D. degree in Cancer Biology, Immunology, Molecular Biology, or related fields.
• Strong publication record in the above fields.
• Expertise in mammalian cell culture, flow cytometry, microscopy, and standard molecular and cell biology techniques. Experience with animal models or genetic screens is a plus.
• Must be highly motivated and able to work independently.
• Must have excellent written and oral communication skills.
Salary is competitive and commensurate with experience. As part of his/her training, the fellow will be encouraged to apply for grants and seek additional sources of funding.
