Postdoctoral positions are immediately available in Shawn Ferguson’s laboratory in the Departments of Cell Biology and Neuroscience at Yale School of Medicine. We have funding for immediate openings related to the following specific projects: 1. Lysosome axonal transport in Alzheimer’s disease. 2. Human neurodevelopmental disease arising from lysosome axonal transport impairment. 3. Dysfunction of the endolysosomal pathway in Parkinson’s disease. Our major model systems for these projects are: neurons derived from genome edited human induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs), genetically modified mice and in vitro assays of protein function. The ideal postdoc applicant would have a recent PhD degree in Neuroscience or Cell Biology (or related discipline) with a combination of microscopy, biochemistry or genetics experience that would support the investigation of neuronal cell biology. Although expertise with these approaches would be highly valued, we would be happy to train motivated individuals coming from other complementary backgrounds. We are committed to providing a collegial environment in which all lab members can learn as a team while developing the skills required to meet their individual career goals. Applicants should submit the following: 1. A brief cover letter explaining your scientific training and why you are interested in the position. 2. Curriculum vitae. 3. Contact information for 3 references. Candidates should send a Curriculum Vitae, a cover letter detailing research interests and career goals, and contact information for three references to Dr. Shawn Ferguson at: email@example.com We will review applications until these positions are filled.
