The Girgenti Laboratory at Yale University is recruiting a behavioral neuroscience post-doctoral position, available in the fall.
Research in the Girgenti lab is directed at determining the molecular pathologies underlying stress disorders such post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), major depressive disorder (MDD), and suicidal behavior. We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated postdoctoral researcher to take a key role in planning and executing both behavioral and basic neuroscience experiments. Major projects in the lab include translational neuroscience projects designed to derive biological meaning from large-scale genomic findings and postmortem genomic approaches to dissect epigenetic and cell-type-specific regulatory elements underlying the genetics of stress-related mental disorders. Trainee-led projects are also encouraged, and there are ample opportunities for growth in the lab and at Yale. We have world class collaborations locally, nationally, and abroad to support an exciting and rich training experience. Please reach out if you have any questions.
· A Ph.D. and relevant research experience in neuroscience or related fields (e.g. Biological Psychology, Behavioral Neuroscience, Pharmacology).
· Highly organized and extremely reliable.
· Prior experience working with mice and rats and conducting behavioral studies, and also have technical experience with rodent surgery (e.g. stereotaxic, catheterization). Special consideration will be given to those with experience in behavioral models of chronic and traumatic stress and anxiety.
Please send an email with your CV, contact information for 3 references, and cover letter to: Dr. Matt Girgenti (firstname.lastname@example.org) using the subject line: Postdoctoral applicant: Your name. Applicants are encouraged to outline research projects of interest.
