The Alarcón lab at the Yale Cancer Biology Institute is looking for a postgrad student interested in learning multidisciplinary approaches to uncover new mechanisms involved in cancer metastasis and development. One of the primary focuses of our lab is to understand the role of RNA modifications (known as Epitranscriptomics) in normal physiology, development, and disease. We are using an array of techniques ranging from biochemistry, molecular and cell biology, transcriptomics, genomics, proteomics, computational biology, and mouse models to answer developmental questions and study cancer initiation and progression.
Qualifications:
Highly motivated individuals with a Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Biological Sciences, Biochemistry are encouraged to apply. Applicants should have strong interpersonal and organizational skills and be willing and eager to learn. Excellent organization skills and a strong work ethic are a must, and experience in basic science research with biochemistry, mouse models, bioinformatics, or other molecular and cellular experience is preferred. This position is perfect for graduates considering careers in Graduate or Medical school and looking to improve their lab experience and publication record.
