The University seeks to appoint a professor to the Department of Odontology to commence as soon as possible.
When considering applications for the professorship, the main emphasis will be on the applicant's ability to document a high level of original scientific work with an increasing number of publications at an international level within the field of neurobiology and neuroanatomy.
The position spans the full breadth of neuroanatomy: from histological and molecular biological approaches to neuroembryology, comparative and evolutionary neuroanatomy, and the anatomical and cellular basis of neurological disease. The research areas include functional neuroanatomy, the role of neuro- and cytoglobin in the brain and retina, and the impact of endocrine disruptors on brain development and sexual differentiation.
The position requires teaching and research experience within the field of medical anatomy, at both microscopic and macroscopic level. Specifically, the professor will take academic ownership of our courses in head, neck, and central nervous system anatomy, while leading the evolution of our curriculum as we launch a redesigned curriculum in effect from September 2026.

The position is a fixed-term position limited to a period of 3 years.
The average weekly working hours are 37 hours per week.
Salary and other terms and conditions of appointment are set in accordance with the Agreement between the Ministry of Finance and AC (Danish Confederation of Professional Associations) or other relevant professional organisations.

After the expiry of the deadline for applications, the authorized recruitment manager selects applicants for assessment on the advice of the Appointments Committee.
