Sanofi is seeking a highly motivated senior scientist in analytical development to join our analytical group. The group is part of the synthetic platform within Global CMC Development that is striving to become an industry leader in the development of transformative medicines.
The primary responsibility of this position is to develop analytical methods for synthetic small molecules and to manage CMC projects. This position is onsite and is based in Sisteron, France.
Ensures the development and the validation of analytical methods (LC, GC, potentiometry, water content, etc.) used in the synthesis of pharmaceutical small molecules including writing of the documentation (protocols, reports, methods)
Manages projects as a local analytical representative or as an Analytical Team Lead in Project Team
Supervises the design and execution of analytical studies, in accordance with scientific and regulatory requirements
Responsible for writing the analytical section for clinical and submission dossier for his/her projects
Represent your unit or department within project teams and during internal scientific presentations
Manages the budget and the laboratory equipment
Prepares and performs any analytical activity respecting EHS rules and project timelines
Monitors emerging trends and advancements in the fields of analytics, technology, automation and AI
Proposes and leads innovation initiatives, individually or in a team, in the scientific or digital field, and ensures their visibility internally (meetings, events) and externally (publications, conferences, seminars)
Acts as an expert on one or two techniques of the service, carries out the associated scientific and regulatory monitoring, and provides training or supports actions for any employee in request
Experience: Expected to have expertise in pharmaceutical analytical development and project management
Education: Master degree or analytical chemistry Engineer with 8 years of experience, PhD with 4 years of experience
Technical Skills: Good knowledge in chromatography (especially in LC-UV and GC-FID) and physico-chemical analytical techniques
Good knowledge in project management
Knowledge in GMP rules
Knowledge of galenics and organic chemistry
Soft skills: Team spirit
Autonomy, decision-making and initiative-making
Communication skills to interact with internal and external partners
Curiosity and adaptability for the use of new equipment, digital tools and modeling as well as in the automation and use of artificial intelligence
Languages: English, French: good level (writing, speaking)
