This position is part of the Association of the Academic Staff of the University of Alberta (AASUA).
Location – This role is hybrid with a mix of remote and in-person work at North Campus Edmonton.
Remuneration for this position will be commensurate with qualifications and experience and based on the income scale of the six-step Academic Medicine and Health Services Program (AMHSP).
The successful candidate will be offered a contingent tenured or tenure-track appointment with the rank of Assistant/Associate/Full Professor, which is in accordance with the University of Alberta Faculty Agreement and offers a comprehensive benefits package.
The University of Alberta, Faculty of Medicine & Dentistry, in partnership with Alberta Health Services (AHS), invites applications for an academic position within the Division of Pediatric Neurology (with a focus on neuromuscular disorders) in the Department of Pediatrics at the University of Alberta. This position is a part of the Alberta Academic Medicine and Health Services Program (AMHSP).
This position is a 1.0 full-time equivalent and includes negotiated and committed protected time for research and other academic pursuits. The position will be a 60% clinical commitment to Stollery Children's Hospital and the Glenrose Rehabilitation Hospital. Expertise in Electromyography and nerve Conduction Studies (EMG/NCS) is required.

The successful candidate will contribute to education at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels, including the Royal College-accredited subspecialty training program in Pediatric Neurology.
Clinical Excellence:
Education and Mentorship: Teach and mentor learners at all levels in clinical and academic settings.
Research Contribution: Conduct impactful research in Pediatric Neurology and engage with the Women and Children's Health Research Institute (WCHRI), which provides a robust infrastructure for research excellence in women's and children's health.
Collaboration and Engagement: Work closely with other programs, interdisciplinary teams, and healthcare professionals to advance Pediatric Neurology care and the education of Pediatric Neurology trainees.

The Glenrose provides specialized programs and inpatient and outpatient pediatric services for children and youth with rehabilitation and complex care needs. As a fully accredited academic teaching hospital, the Glenrose participates in educational training programs for health sciences professionals and offers a range of research and technology development opportunities.
The Women and Children's Health Research Institute (WCHRI) supports researchers within the Faculty of Medicine & Dentistry and Alberta Health Services. With a focus on advancing women's, children's, and perinatal health, WCHRI provides extensive resources for faculty conducting research in these areas. As a member of WCHRI, the successful candidate will have access to funding opportunities, biostatistical expertise, qualitative design support, knowledge translation resources, and clinical trials services. WCHRI also invests in research development by supporting trainees through scholarships, fellowships, and travel grants for presenting research outcomes.
