This position will require mammalian cell culture and associated techniques like CRISPR/Cas9 gene expression control, pharmacological treatments, transfection, cloning, and cell passaging. Experiments will also require molecular and biochemical analyses of these cell culture experiments, including gene expression by RT-PCR, western blot, mass spectrometry to be run by a collaborator, and transcriptomics, as well as the necessary sample preparation techniques needed to perform these analyses. The candidate will be responsible for managing multiple cell lines simultaneously. The candidate will be trained in new techniques and will plan experiments in collaboration with other lab members and Dr. Goldberg, with the expectation that they become increasingly independent throughout the course of the appointment. The candidate will be trained in relevant mouse handling and techniques for in vivo experiments, genotyping, and colony management. The candidate will be expected to present at lab meetings and these presentations must include updates on experimental progress, figures of data, data interpretation, and plans for upcoming experiments. The candidate is also expected to participate in general lab responsibilities like helping other lab members with experiments, lab cleaning, supply monitoring and ordering. The candidate will also be required to maintain a lab notebook and data storage according to lab organizational rules.
