Assistant Professor in Genetic Medicine

The Department of Medicine, Division of Genetic Medicine, is seeking a board-eligible or board-certified physician in Internal Medicine with training or experience in Medical Genetics to join our faculty as an Assistant Professor. The successful candidate will contribute to clinical care, teaching, and scholarly activities within the field of genetic and genomic medicine.

Main Responsibilities:

• Provide outpatient and/or inpatient consultation in genetic and genomic medicine.
• Evaluate and manage adult patients with hereditary and complex genetic conditions.
• Participate in multidisciplinary clinics and collaborative care models. Contribute to clinical trial enrollment and precision medicine initiatives, as applicable.
• Teach medical students, residents, and fellows in Internal Medicine and Genetics.
• Contribute to curriculum development in genomic medicine.
• Provide mentorship to trainees and junior faculty.
• Develop and/or participate in clinical, translational, or genomic research.
• Pursue extramural funding where applicable.
• Publish scholarly work in peer-reviewed journals.
• Present at regional and national conferences.
• Serve on departmental and institutional committees.
• Participate in quality improvement and patient safety initiatives.
• Contribute to community outreach or genomic education programs.

Qualifications:

• MD or MD/PhD (or equivalent).
• Board-certified or board-eligible in Internal Medicine/Genetic Medicine.
• Training or certification in Medical Genetics (or strong clinical/research experience in genomic medicine).
• Eligible for medical licensure in the State of Maryland.
• Demonstrated commitment to academic medicine.

Salary Range: $140,000 per year
