Description of the workplace: The research group conducts research in the field of diabetes, particularly investigating insulin release and metabolism in insulin secreting beta-cells. For several years, the research has been one of the leading the field, with publications in internationally high-ranking journals. The group is led by Professor Hindrik Mulder and Associate Professor Malin Fex and consists of researchers and technical staff, based at CRC in Malmö. Work duties and areas of responsibility: The work duties include dissection of human pancreas and the use of PRISM (an instrument for isolating human pancreatic tissue). Furthermore, the duties consist of performing advanced scientific studies in the laboratory, differentiating stem cells into insulin-producing cells, culturing human pancreatic islets, as well as supervising students, doctoral candidates, and postdoctoral researchers.
