UCL is seeking to appoint 2 outstanding Associate Professors or Professors at a level to play a leading role in a major cross-faculty initiative. These appointments reflect UCL's commitment to addressing complex health challenges through interdisciplinary research that brings together computation, clinical science, and the life sciences. The UCLH Strategic Research Fund (SRF) is helping to shape the future of research at UCLH and UCL by investing in new facilities and building research capacity. With £11.9M awarded to UCL through the SRF, we have already launched several exciting projects that bring together clinical and academic expertise to tackle some of the biggest challenges in healthcare. We are seeking to appoint an outstanding academic as Associate Professor or Professor of Healthcare Computing. The postholder will lead a world-class research portfolio at the interface of artificial intelligence, biophysical modelling, clinical prediction and digital health. The role spans three connected dimensions: research leadership, clinical integration and education. The post holder is also expected to work synergistically with other research areas in the department, as well as with colleagues outside the department, especially those within the UCL-affiliated NIHR Biomedical Research Centres (UCLH, GOSH, Moorfields) to with a focus on translating scientific developments through to patient outcomes.
We are seeking candidates who can demonstrate: • A PhD (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline. • An outstanding track record of research excellence and impact appropriate to appointment at Associate Professor or Professor level. • Strong evidence of interdisciplinary collaboration, particularly across computational and healthcare domains. • Success in, or clear potential for, attracting significant external research funding. • A commitment to high-quality teaching, mentoring, and academic citizenship. • A collegial approach and the ability to work effectively across disciplinary and organisational boundaries.
