Associate, Scientist Full-time

Job Title

Performs a variety of routine sample preparation and analysis procedures to support Manufacturing and Quality Operations. Follows validated or experimental analytical procedures with periodic direct supervision. Revision and compilation of results and data comparison against test method acceptance criteria, methodology, protocol and product specifications.

Responsibilities

• Perform method troubleshooting.
• Perform laboratory and/or manufacturing investigations and studies.
• Write technical documentation according to established procedures.
• Perform tasks related to commercial and non-commercial production, technology transfer and/or validation projects.
• Maintain statistical control charts for the department's Laboratory or process monitoring.
• Responsible to comply with AbbVie and Quality Operations policies, plant procedures, and GMP and GLP regulations and requirements.
• Conform to EH&S management system requirements and compliance obligations, promote continuous improvement and consider EH&S aspects during the design and change process. Comply with all EHS procedures and policies including incident reporting, use of PPE, waste management and disposal and any other program applicable according to position duties.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor's Degree in Science: Biochemistry, Chemistry, Biology, Chemical Technology, or Medical Technology.
• Experience: Less than two years of related experience is typical.
• Active Learning: understand the implications of new information for both current and future problem-solving.
• Critical Thinking: use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, or approaches to problems.
• Verbal and written communication skills in English and Spanish
• Practical Knowledge: Analytical Instrumentation. Laboratory systems, such as LIMS, and HPLC CDS. How to handle instrument qualification protocols and change requests.

Where We Work

Role is primarily site- or office-based but can occasionally be performed remotely. Employees who are site/office-based and can occasionally perform their role virtually work both in the office and remotely*, following the policies and regulations in place at their location. US Employees must be in the office on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday with flexibility to work remotely on Mondays and Fridays. Three days in the office is the minimum; some individuals or teams may require more in-office days due to meetings, business/project needs or their role.
