We are seeking a Clinical Researcher to play a leading role in an experimental medicine study aimed at developing novel biomarkers of brain circuit function.

The post is funded for 12 months and is based in the Department of Psychiatry at the Warneford Hospital. Reporting to Dr Rob McCutcheon, Chief Investigator of the study, you will join a multidisciplinary research group within the Department of Psychiatry, University of Oxford, with expertise spanning neuroimaging, computational modelling, clinical psychiatry, and experimental medicine.
You will work on the EXIBIT (EXcitation–Inhibition Balance Imaging using Twin modalities) study, a collaborative project between the University of Oxford and Johnson & Johnson. You will play a central role in the conduct of this study, including participant recruitment, clinical assessments, data acquisition, and analysis. In addition to contributing to the successful completion of the EXIBIT study, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to develop your own research interests in neuroimaging, computational psychiatry, and biomarker development.
You will hold a medical degree (MBBS or equivalent) and GMC registration, along with clinical experience in a relevant clinical setting including experimental medicine study experience. The ability to use initiative to plan and organise complex activities and programmes and manage own academic research and associated activities is essential. You will have demonstrable, strong interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to build rapport with research participants. The ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary research team and to contribute to research publications and presentations is essential. Experience recruiting participants to research studies and with neuroimaging methods (e.g., MRI, EEG, MEG) would be desirable.
