The Department of Chemistry at Aarhus University is seeking a Data Specialist for a three-year full-time position. The position focuses on supporting the department's data-driven research and IT security, including the development of best practices and procedures for handling large datasets generated by the department's advanced research infrastructures.
The Department of Chemistry is one of Europe's leading chemistry departments, with research activities spanning a broad range of chemical disciplines. The department hosts a range of specialized research instruments that generate substantial amounts of data. You will become part of the department's data team and a network of data managers across the Faculty of Natural Sciences, where data management, high-performance computing (HPC), and AI are strategic focus areas. At the department, you will be part of a technical team with other academic technicians, who work with large amounts of data, both from computational and experimental research.
As data manager/specialist, you will have primary responsibility for developing best practices and establishing secure and efficient procedures for managing large volumes of research data. You will work closely with research groups to understand their needs and support the implementation of data management and data storage solutions that meet both scientific and IT security requirements.
