The Department of Human Genetics at the University of Michigan Medical School (Ann Arbor, Michigan) seeks to fill one tenure-track faculty position at the Assistant Professor level.
We encourage candidates to apply who have a Ph.D., M.D. or equivalent, and are employing classical and/or modern approaches to address fundamental questions in genetics and genomics. Recruited faculty will join a highly collaborative community of more than forty investigators, whose research is well integrated with other basic science and clinical departments and institutes at the University of Michigan. Information about research being conducted in the Department can be found at https://medschool.umich.edu/departments/human-genetics.
Successful candidates will be provided with laboratory and/or office space that suits their research and a competitive start-up package to develop a robust research program. We expect candidates to contribute to our faculty’s strong interest in developing trainees at all levels, including teaching in the classroom and mentoring in the laboratory.
Candidates should submit a cover letter, curriculum vitae, statement summarizing past and future research plans (3 pages), a teaching and service statement (1 page), and three letters of recommendation. Completed applications will start to be reviewed as they are received. For full consideration, completed applications must be received by December 15, 2025. All materials should be submitted via Interfolio at [Please click the Apply button for the link or address]. For questions about the position or the application process, please contact the chair of the search committee, Dr. Jacob Kitzman (kitzmanj@umich.edu).
