We are searching for the best talent for a Distinguished Scientist, Formulations to be located in Malvern, PA.

Purpose: As a Distinguished Scientist in the Formulations team in Drug Product Development & Delivery (DPD&D), Proteins, you must have experience in protein formulations, drug product development, early and late stage development, regulatory guidance and submissions. Expertise on topics ranging from protein modeling, high concentration, low concentration, novel excipients, protein biophysics, automation, and innovation are needed.

You will be responsible for:

• Serving as a strategic leader in drug product protein formulations.
• Delivering on the portfolio working across multiple modalities, including conjugates and multi-specifics, with focus on innovation, resourcing, and speed.
• Building scientific talent. Coaching and mentoring scientists on scientific literature, program risks, communication and critical issues, and opportunities.
• Working within CMC teams as well as with cross-functional partners including J&J Innovative Medicine Supply Chain (IMSC) and Discovery as needed.

Qualifications / Requirements:

Education:

• A Ph.D. with at least 10 years of experience in Pharmaceutical Sciences, Biophysics, Chemical Engineering or related field is required.

Experience and Skills:

Required:

• Demonstrated experience with proteins and protein formulations is required.
• Knowledge of the current state of literature is required.
• Ability to address challenges by experimental design and execution is required.
• Experience with authoring regulatory submissions and responding to health authority questions is required.
• Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, as well as proven conflict management and negotiation skills are required.
• Demonstrated capability to manage multiple projects is required.
• Ability to make data driven decisions in a timely manner is required.
• Capacity to serve a coach and mentor is required.

Preferred:

• Publications, presentations, and/or conference attendance to demonstrate experience with proteins and protein formulations is preferred.
• Focus on innovation and new technologies is highly preferred.
• Experience authoring and submitting BLA's is preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to adapt effectively to a constantly evolving organizational issues, structures and dynamics is preferred.
• Ability to influence and lead is preferred.
