The Divisions of Hematology, Oncology, and Bone Marrow Transplant within the Department of Pediatrics at the University of California, San Francisco, and UCSF Benioff Children's Hospitals are recruiting for faculty positions at the ranks of Instructor, Assistant, Associate, and Full Professor in the Health Sciences Clinical faculty series. Academic rank will be commensurate with experience.
Selected candidates will join a major academic medical center and established fellowship training program. UCSF is a national leader in pediatric care, offering comprehensive, cutting-edge care and impactful research in these subspecialties.
A primary responsibility for these positions is to serve as nighttime attendings, providing front-line coverage for patient concerns and admissions. Night shifts, including some weekends on a rotating basis, will have on-call support from Hematology-Oncology/BMT fellows and attending physicians (in person or by phone, depending on patient acuity). Common acute issues include transfusion needs, sepsis, anaphylaxis, and pain management. Faculty will be fully integrated into the inpatient teams, working alongside advanced practice providers (APPs), fellows, and attending physicians. Additionally, there will be opportunities to perform procedures (e.g., lumbar punctures, bone marrow aspirates/biopsies) and contribute to daytime care on a rotating basis.
For candidates interested in research, quality improvement, or other scholarly projects, UCSF offers numerous resources and mentorship opportunities. In addition to night shifts, faculty will contribute to daytime inpatient rounding teams, which include interdisciplinary collaboration with nurses, case managers, dietitians, pharmacists, NPs, residents, students, fellows, and attendings.
