A Postdoctoral Position in Cancer Signaling at the University of Pennsylvania, Department of Cancer Biology, is available for a highly motivated candidate with a background in molecular/cellular biology and biochemistry. Specifically, the project linked to this position will investigate the mechanism of E3-ligase substrates pairings and relevance in lymphoma or myeloma. Specifically, the project will investigate methods to hijack E3 ligases for therapeutic purposes using small molecules and biologicals.
The successful applicant will be responsible for performing experiments in the laboratory, including basic molecular biology techniques, basic tissue culture, protein expression and purification and HTS screens. The successful applicant will carry out data analysis resulting from experiments and help with manuscript preparation/writing.
Salary will match NIH standard.
Job Requirements:
Ph.D.
First-author publication(s) in internationally recognized journals in the fields of biochemistry and/or molecular biology. Experience in basic approaches of protein biochemistry and molecular biology. Motivation and ability to keep abreast of the current literature as well as his/her own experiments. Willingness to interact with other members of the laboratory in a way that raises the scientific excellence of the whole group. Excellent scientific writing and oral presentation skills.
