Oxford Population Health (Nuffield Department of Population Health) contains world-renowned population health research groups and provides an excellent environment for multi-disciplinary research and teaching. The China Kadoorie Biobank (CKB) Study is a uniquely rich and powerful global resource for investigating the environmental and genetic determinants of common chronic diseases.
We are seeking a talented Epidemiologist who will be an integral member of the “Ageing” research group of the China Kadoorie Biobank based at Oxford, led by Professor Derrick Bennett, at the Clinical Trial Service Unit and Epidemiological Studies Unit (CTSU), Oxford Population Health (Nuffield Department of Population Health). The postholder will analyse large-scale data from the UK Biobank and China Kadoorie Biobank and will have expertise and proven experience in Cox and Logistic Regression analyses, causal inference methods, and genetic epidemiology in particular Mendelian Randomization techniques. The successful candidate will play a key role in shaping research design, contribute to the writing of analysis plans and research articles, formulate new research questions, and contribute to the preparation of grant applications for new research projects.
To be considered for the Epidemiologist post, you will hold PhD (or close to completion) in epidemiology, medical statistics or a closely related field. You will have substantial experience in practical research as well as statistical epidemiology, handling large (e.g. proteomics) and complex longitudinal datasets in a cloud-based platform. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are also essential for this role.
The position is full time (although part time considered) and fixed term for 2 years (in the first instance).
