Postdoctoral Fellowship Call FAPESP Generation Project
Position context
Applications are open for a Postdoctoral Research Fellowship funded by FAPESP and linked to the Generation Project entitled “High-performance filtration using filter media containing functionalized nanofibers for the mitigation and detection of pollutants”, within the framework of the New Generation of Researchers Program, coordinated by Dr. Paulo Augusto Marques Chagas.
The project focuses on the development of advanced filtration media based on the production, functionalization and integration of polymeric, composite and ceramic nanofibers for applications in industrial systems for the mitigation and detection of gaseous and particulate pollutants. Research activities include the production of nanofibrous materials using electrospinning and Solution Blow Spinning techniques, thermal conversion to obtain ceramic structures, functionalization with active materials, morphological, structural, chemical and thermal characterization, evaluation of filtration efficiency and sensing performance, as well as the integration of nanofibers into industrial filtration media.
The experimental activities of the project will be carried out at the Environmental Control Laboratory (LCA), Department of Chemical Engineering, Federal University of São Carlos (UFSCar), under the supervision of Dr. Mônica Lopes Aguiar, and at the National Laboratory of Nanotechnology for Agribusiness (LNNA) of Embrapa Instrumentation, under the supervision of Dr. Daniel Souza Corrêa.
