A Ph.D. position or PostDoc (max. 32h/week) is available in the research group of Prof. Sebastian Aland.
The research group is shared between HTW Dresden and TU Freiberg and puts a strong focus on interdisciplinary collaboration using numerical simulations to help other disciplines understanding real-life systems.
The project is concerned with the numerical simulation of nanoplastic particles close to cell membranes, intended to analyze the influence of fluid flows, membrane mechanics and surface forces during particle entry.
Required qualifications:
– Diploma or master’s degree in Mathematics, Computational Engineering Science, Physics, or a related field, with sound knowledge in numerical methods
– for PostDocs experience with simulation of moving interfaces is required, PhD applicants will learn this on the job
– an interest in interdisciplinary collaboration
– advanced programming skills (e.g. C/C++, Python, Matlab)
