We are seeking a talented bioinformatician to join the international project, “Skeletal muscle-Heart crosstalk in the context of cancer-induced cachexia (MuscExiaHeart)”, funded by ERA4Health InterHeart 2025. The position is based at Humanitas Research Hospital in Milan, Italy and is available immediately.
The project investigates the impact of extracellular vesicles released by skeletal muscle on the heart in the context of cancer-induced cachexia and explores how muscle-heart crosstalk is modulated by physical exercise and pharmacological interventions.
The successful candidate will perform integrative analysis of multi-omics datasets including snRNA-Seq, CUT&Tag, proteomics, and metabolomics, generated from extracellular vesicles and tissues derived from skeletal muscle/tumor co-culture systems and mouse models of cancer-induced cachexia. The overall goal is to define molecular signatures to identify biomarkers and discover novel therapeutic targets.
