Institute of Biology - University of Campinas (Unicamp)
Project title: Structural and functional studies on the mechanisms of effector recruitment by a Xanthomonadaceae type VI secretion system.
One full-time post-doctoral position is available to work in a collaboration between the Laboratory of Bacterial Genetics at University of Campinas (UNICAMP) and the Biochemistry of Bacterial complexes Laboratory, coordinated by Cristina Alvarez-Martinez and Leonardo Talachia. Both research groups integrate the Research, Innovation, and Dissemination Centre B3 (Biology of Bacteria and Bacteriophages), supported by FAPESP.
The project aims to structurally characterize a subcomplex of the type VI secretion system (T6SS) found in bacteria of the Xanthomonaceae family. For that, a combination of biochemical and structural biology techniques will be employed to dissect the mechanisms of recruitment of T6SS effectors to the T6SS machinery.
Candidates should have experience in molecular biology techniques, protein biochemistry, structural biology and bacterial genetics.
Applications must be submitted via e-mail by October 10th, accompanied by the following documents:
A letter describing the reasons for the interest in this position and previous academic experience.
Two recommendation letters.
A short CV indicating the link to Google Scholar, Research ID or ORCID profiles.
