This post represents an exciting opportunity for an ambitious individual to join Professor Bowerman’s research group in Keele University’s School of Medicine and Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences.
The role will allow the post holder/successful candidate to:
Be involved in an exciting project aimed at better understanding the contribution of brown adipose tissue in the metabolic defects that occur in the neuromuscular condition spinal muscular atrophy (SMA), using pre-clinical models.
Undertake experimental research and general laboratory activities associated with the role.
Be part of a research team composed of undergraduate students, postgraduate students and academic staff. Travel for a short period of time to France to undertake experimental research associated with the role with a collaborator.
You will have a Masters in a relevant subject or equivalent experience in a relevant subject and working in a laboratory environment and preferably in possession of a Home Office Personal Licence (PIL). Applicants without a PIL will also be considered and training and certification provided once in post.
