Postdoctoral Fellow
Postdoctoral Fellow in Developmental Vascular Biology Full-time
The newly established lab of Dr. Junichi Saito (https://www.augusta.edu/centers/vbc/saito.php) is NIH-funded and is seeking talented and motivated postdoctoral scientists to join the team at the Vascular Biology Center in the Medical College of Georgia at Augusta University, USA.
Our research questions are i) How do vascular cells respond to surrounding cues such as extracellular matrix during development? and ii) Why does this morphogenesis go awry in vascular diseases?
We apply developmental biology, genetic, biochemical, and omics approaches to uncover key insights into the morphogenesis and pathogenesis of the blood vessel wall. Our ongoing projects focus on the following areas:
- Aorta and Elastin Aortopathy
- Ductus Arteriosus and Patent Ductus Arteriosus
- Cerebral Vasculature and Intracranial Hemorrhage
Responsibilities:
- Planning and performing experiments, and analyzing data
- Presenting data at lab meetings and international conferences
- Writing scientific papers and grant applications
Requirements:
- PhD degree (Preference will be given to applicants who have recently obtained a PhD or are expected to obtain a PhD)
- Experience in molecular and cellular biology, mouse genetics, and omics approaches
- Hardworking to pursue top-notch scientific investigation
