STEM Generalist Evaluator (PhD) – Remote AI Research Part-time
We are seeking PhD-level STEM generalists to evaluate and improve large language models (LLMs) used for scientific and technical domains. This part-time, fully remote role suits PhDs, PhD candidates, or exceptional master’s graduates across biology, physics, chemistry, engineering, computer science, or mathematics.
Responsibilities
• Rigorously review LLM outputs for accuracy, scientific depth, and domain relevance across advanced topics (e.g., molecular biology, genetics, classical mechanics, quantum physics, physical chemistry, computer science, engineering).
• Identify factual errors, logical flaws, and reasoning gaps; provide clear, constructive corrections and rationales.
• Work independently and asynchronously using provided evaluation tools and rubrics.
Requirements
• PhD (or PhD candidate) in a STEM field; exceptional master’s graduates considered.
• Strong familiarity with graduate-level problem solving and scientific reasoning.
• Excellent written communication and high attention to detail.
• Comfortable working independently and remotely; basic Python is a plus.
Role Details
• Contractor, part-time (~20 hrs/week), remote and asynchronous.
• Compensation: $35–$60/hr, weekly payouts.
• Initial term with potential extension based on performance and project needs.
• Streamlined screening: brief online interview + short written assessment (20–30 minutes).
