Early-Career Researcher Position At Nanyang Technological University

The School of Civil and Environmental Engineering (CEE), which is under the College of Engineering, aspires to be a leading school in Sustainable Urban Systems. Its faculty has led major university-wide strategic research thrusts in space creation, water research, and sustainable built environments. Moving forward, CEE is addressing critical problems in urban systems such as digital construction, urban solutions for the built environment and sustainability, and resiliency to climate change, as well as natural and unnatural risks.

We welcome early-career researchers with strong academic records and high potential to lead research in their areas of expertise. The appointment provides a startup package and a conducive environment to build a strong research and teaching portfolio.

Land Surveying and Geodesy Structural Engineering and Construction Automation Coastal Protection Engineering Sustainable Infrastructure and Resilient Urban Systems Smart and Green Transportation Systems Environmental Science and Engineering

Key Responsibilities

• Lead independent and/or collaborative research projects.
• Secure competitive external research funding.
• Publish in top-tier international peer-reviewed journals.
• Establish strong research collaborations with local and global institutions.
• Mentor undergraduate and graduate students in research activities.

Teaching

• Design and deliver effective teaching at both undergraduate and graduate levels.
• Develop innovative curriculum and assessment methods.
• Supervise student projects and theses.
• Embrace inclusive and active learning strategies.
• Contribute to curriculum development and program accreditation.

Service

• Participate in departmental and university-wide committees.
• Contribute to School's outreach and recruitment efforts.
• Support academic governance and mentorship initiatives.
• Actively engage in the broader academic and professional community.

Qualifications

• A PhD in Civil Engineering, Environmental Science and Engineering, Geomatics, Urban Planning, Transportation, or a closely related field.
• Demonstrated excellence in research and potential for teaching excellence.
• Strong publication record and a clear vision for future research.
• Interdisciplinary orientation and practical industry awareness are advantages.
