The Department of Laboratory Medicine at the University of California San Francisco is seeking a physician-scientist faculty member to contribute to our growing program in Transfusion Medicine as well as the UCSF School of Medicine's tripartite mission of fostering excellence in research, education, and patient care. The selected candidate will be appointed at the Assistant Professor level in the “Clinical X” faculty series at UCSF. An MD or MD/PhD (or equivalent degree) is required for this position. An active medical license in the state of California is required. Prior residency training in Clinical Pathology and fellowship training in Transfusion Medicine are both required. The candidate will be expected to perform clinical duties in Transfusion Medicine within the Department of Laboratory Medicine while also establishing a laboratory-based research program. Prior high impact publications in the fields of transfusion medicine, cellular therapy, and/or cellular immunology are required. A track record of obtaining extramural funding is required.

The posted UC salary scales set the minimum pay determined by rank and step at appointment. See Table 5 The minimum base salary range for this position is $154,700-$200,400. This position includes membership in the health sciences compensation plan which provides for eligibility for additional compensation.
