We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced postdoc for a 2-year position, to commence 1 May 2025.
The project is funded by a Lundbeck Experiment grant awarded to Ole Kjaerulff. The aim of the project is to use accelerated evolution in the Drosophila model to identify mutations increasing the resilience against Parkinson's disease.
Your main task will be to establish in the lab a Drosophila Parkinson's disease model expressing a transgenic mutator enzyme, and to create and implement a workflow for assaying disease severity, whole-genome sequencing and evaluation of the mutations.

The place of employment is at the Department of Neuroscience, Panum Institute, University of Copenhagen. We offer creative and stimulating working conditions in a vibrant and international research environment. Our research facilities include modern laboratories and state-of-the-art techniques.
The position is a fixed-term part-time position for 2 years, starting 1 May 2026 or on a different date after agreement. The average weekly working hours are 28 hours per week.
Salary, pension and other conditions of employment are set in accordance with the Agreement between the Ministry of Taxation and AC (Danish Confederation of Professional Associations) or other relevant organisation.
Depending on seniority, the monthly salary starts between 26,350-31,260 DKK/approx. 3,525-4,185 EUR (November 2025 level). The employer will pay an additional 18.07% to your pension fund.
Foreign and Danish applicants may be eligible for tax reductions, if they hold a PhD degree and have not lived in Denmark the last 10 years.
The position is covered by the Job Structure for Academic Staff at Universities 2025.
