The Department of Agroecology at Aarhus University, Denmark, is offering a postdoctoral position in the effects of climate smart farming measures in Danish arable cropping systems, starting 01-08-2026 or as soon as possible thereafter. The position will be available for a 2-year period. You will be part of a research environment focusing on soil management and soil fertility in the context of climate smart agriculture (mitigation, adaptation, and productivity). You will be contributing specifically to the area of cover cropping, crop rotation, and tillage to support climate smart farming. And the main focus of your position will be to measure cropping system effects on nitrous oxide emission and carbon storage, and on soil properties influencing climate resilience and other key ecosystem services. You will work experimentally with already established field experiments including the CENTS long-term experiment on conservation/regenerative agriculture. We expect that you will be an important part of the research environment and that you will contribute positively to the social working environment. We also expect that you will take part in our teaching activities and that you will report research results in high-impact scientific journals.

We want to make a difference by contributing to both fundamental knowledge generation and the attainment of sustainable production systems via innovative research, contracted policy advice, and education. Shortlisting is used. Technical Sciences refers to the Ministerial Order on the Appointment of Academic Staff at Danish Universities under the Danish Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation.
