General Notes: PhD must have been received within the past 3 years. This is a temporary training position that can be renewed annually, for a maximum of five years, based upon performance review, progress towards research goals, and continuation of funding.
Carry out research in RNA biology and novel reverse transcriptase, with RNA-seq, diagnostic, and genome engineering applications
Conduct independent research in RNA biology, RNA analysis, and RNA diagnostic and medical applications using a wide variety of techniques, such as tissue culture, recombinant DNA, biochemical assays, nucleic acid purification and analysis, gel electrophoresis, growth of bacteria, isolation of RNA and DNA, PCR, RT-qPCR, reporter assays, protein expression and purification, in vitro mutagenesis, and RNA sequencing and data analysis.
Provide instruction, assistance and mentoring to graduate students.
Write manuscripts and assist in the preparation of reports, abstracts, manuscripts and proposals. Make presentations at lab meetings, attend lab meetings and other meetings.
PhD in molecular biology, biochemistry or closely related field. PhD must have been received within the past 3 years.
$58,744 + depending on qualifications
