Work duties: At Lund University, a postdoctoral position should provide opportunities for scientific and pedagogical qualifications. Primarily, there is scope for qualifications in research, but also for some higher education pedagogy training. Teaching may also be part of the duties (max. 20%).
You will work at the intersection of numerical analysis, uncertainty quantification, and scientific machine learning. The research will primarily focus on probabilistic methods for data-driven model reduction, with an emphasis on maintaining physical consistency, numerical stability, and real-time data assimilation within reduced-order models. Primary application areas include computational physics and climate modeling.

The assessment of the applicants will primarily be based on their research qualifications and potential as researchers. Emphasis will be placed on research skills within the subject. Consideration will also be given to how the applicant's experience and skills complement and strengthen ongoing research within the department and how they stand to contribute to its future development.
Terms of employment: This is a full-time, fixed-term employment of two years. The period of employment is determined in accordance with the agreement “Avtal om tidsbegränsad anställning som postdoktor” (“Agreement on fixed-term employment as a postdoctoral fellow”). A postdoctoral position is intended as an initial step in your career and as an opportunity to further deepen and broaden your research expertise.
Preferred start date of the position is August 15, 2026, but no later than October 1, 2026.
