Life and Mind Building, South Parks Road, Oxford OX1 3EL
About the role:
We are seeking a postdoc to support our ongoing work on improving disease surveillance for emerging and endemic pathogens. This work utilizes advanced epidemiological modelling combined with AI methods for adaptive rather than static surveillance design. This project is particularly exciting because it combines new advances in methodologies with direct applications in public health and biosecurity. For example, how shall we allocate sparse resources to detect pathogens early, characterize their growth and key parameters, and track their evolution and spatial spread? This post is full time and fixed-term for 12 months.
Prior work on the topic from our team is available at:

About you:
The postholder will have a strong quantitative background with application to infectious diseases. They will be able to perform advanced modelling for informing biosecurity risk assessments and be skilled at communicating their research to stakeholders across multiple sectors.
