Applications are invited for a Postdoctoral Research Associate in Chemical Biology and Bioengineering to work under the supervision of Professor Yimon Aye for a period of up to 12 months. The project involves developing and applying a novel integrated platform to study the chemical molecular mechanisms and signalling consequences of reactive small-molecule metabolites within important biological contexts including host-pathogen interactions and tumor-immune microenvironment. The project further leverages state-of-the-art chemical biology tools in unison with advanced genetic and biochemical concepts and models, include zebrafish and mice. The project is funded by European Research Council Advanced (ERC-AdG) Grant.
About you
Applicants must hold a PhD in Chemistry, Chemical Biology, Bioengineering, or a related area (or be close to completion), prior to taking up the appointment. The research requires experience and supple mindset in interdisciplinary research. Expected background skillsets include, for instance, small-molecule chemistry, biochemistry, cell-based, and model organism studies. You will be expected to manage your own academic research and administrative activities. This involves small scale project management, to co-ordinate multiple aspects of work to meet deadlines.
Application process
Applications for this vacancy are to be made online and you will be required to upload a supporting statement and CV as part of your application.
