Postdoctoral Research Fellow/Research Fellow

We are seeking an exceptional Postdoctoral Research Fellow/Research Fellow to join our dynamic research team working on cutting-edge spatiotemporal optical beam-shaping. This exciting role is based within the School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science (EECS) at The University of Queensland (UQ).

Key responsibilities will include:

• Design, build, and characterise optical systems for spatiotemporal beam-shaping. Disseminate research findings through high-quality publications in top-tier venues.
• Contribute to the effective supervision of Honours and Higher Degrees by Research students (as appropriate).
• Develop partnerships, demonstrate leadership through mentoring, engage in internal service roles and committees, perform administrative functions, provide support to colleagues, and uphold university values.

Academic Level B (in addition to Level A Research Responsibilities):

• Develop an independent and/or collaborative research program to achieve national recognition and impact.
• Produce high-quality research outputs consistent with disciplinary standards, taking a lead role in selected publications.
• Contribute as a chief investigator (often with senior researchers) to competitive research funding applications, including seeking, securing and managing funding.
• Collaborate with colleagues on joint research projects and funding applications.
• Support translation of research to end users, including commercialisation of UQ intellectual property.
• Apply and promote best-practice research methodologies.
