The Department of Experimental Psychology has an exciting opportunity for a part-time Postdoctoral Researcher to join the Staresina Lab. This position is fixed term until 31 December 2026, with the possibility of renewal. It is a part-time role, working 15.75 hours per week.
The role
The post holder will be a member of the Staresina Lab research group and will lead a defined work package within a larger project on sleep and memory consolidation and transformation. The role involves designing, conducting, and disseminating research, as well as providing guidance to junior members of the group (including research assistants, PhD students, and project students).

About you
You will hold a relevant PhD/DPhil in Cognitive Neuroscience, Psychology, or a related subject. Strong programming skills (Python and/or MATLAB) and the ability to write clean, well-documented analysis code. Ability to work with EEG data and apply multivariate methods to extract meaningful measures relevant to memory and consolidation. Skilled in developing and adapting research methodologies, with particular interest in applying and validating AI tools for analysing behavioural, fMRI, and EEG data. Experienced in preparing academic publications and presenting research at conferences and public events, effectively communicating findings to both academic and wider audiences. A supportive team member who provides guidance on research methods, analysis pipelines, and best practices within collaborative research environments.
You will have the ability to independently manage a defined area of academic research, contribute to new project development and represent research at meetings. Experience in supporting junior researchers (eg supervising students or assisting research staff)
