Sir William Dunn School of Pathology, South Parks Road, Oxford
We are seeking to appoint a talented and ambitious postdoctoral researcher to join Prof. Matthew Freeman's group at the Dunn School of Pathology to carry out research in the biochemistry and cell biology of rhomboid-like membrane proteins, with an emphasis on cellular signalling mechanisms. You will also be expected to provide guidance to less experienced members of the research group, including postdocs, research assistants, technicians, and students.
The post-holder should hold a PhD/DPhil in a subject relevant to biochemistry and cell biology and have sufficient knowledge of the cell biology of signalling and rhomboid-like proteins. You should be able to work independently to solve experimental problems and contribute ideas for new research projects. You should have at least one first-author paper on a topic related to cell signalling mechanisms. Previous experience in membrane proteins, proteomics and protein biochemistry would be an advantage.
This is a full-time, fixed-term appointment for 3 years. If you are interested in this role, and have the skills and experience we are looking for, please apply online. You will be required to upload a CV and supporting statement as part of your application.
The closing date for applications is midday on 20 April 2026. Interviews will be held as soon as possible thereafter.
At the Dunn School we are committed to supporting the professional and career development of our postdocs and research staff. To help them thrive and achieve their ambitions, we have created a comprehensive range of opportunities and initiatives designed to provide an exceptional launchpad for their future careers.
