Do you want to contribute to top quality medical research?
In the research group “Receptor Biology & Signaling” led by Professor Gunnar Schulte, the focus is on G protein-coupled receptors and in particular class F receptors. The work aims to better understand how Frizzleds are activated, how conformational changes contribute to receptors activation and consequently how downstream signaling is specified. Functional selectivity of class F receptors against different intracellular transducers is analyzed in the hope of exploiting the new knowledge therapeutically.

The research project aims to understand the underlying molecular details of class F receptor activation for future drug development. The project brings together disciplines such as structural biology (CryoEM), pharmacology, biophysics, molecular biology and oncology. The highly motivated candidate, with a strong background in GPCR structural biology AND pharmacology, is expected to drive the research project, technical development and concept development from idea to publication.
You will participate in the supervision of master's and doctoral students. In addition to lab work, the applicant is expected to take an active, constructive and developing part in lab management and undergraduate teaching.
